Crazy crazy crazy…..things are unbelievable when you get into a city in India…
Today afternoon I was in Mumbai (Bombay), not much time to tour around but you could easily tell the city was dirty and poor when you were in a car driving along any road….I worked in the Grand Hyatt hotel…once you stepped out from the hotel gate…there were shelters (not houses!!) just covered by iron sheet and cracked wood….people live inside. No water, no electricity. Just garbage they picked from the area….and FLIES!!! When you think about the contrast between these and the luxury in hotel….you feel heart-breaking….
At evening I caught a flight from Mumbai to Delhi.
it’s so called the capital of the country…airport was old. Thousands of hotel pick-ups and taxi drivers just packed like Sadin fish at the waiting area…..the design of the airport was crazy. The exit just wide enough for 1 luggage cart to pass through!!! At the time I arrived there were 3 planes landed at the same time….so everyone just got their luggages and stuck at that stupid exit! You know Indians just never follow rules….they just chipped in the queue and dashed like a bull…..crazy
The best was in the airport parking…since we booked a hotel car…we just got in the car and got out from the airport area….AGAIN…great design of the roads and excellent management….1000s of car just needed to go on a small exit road and pass through the only gate at the same time!!! Before I thought China as the “best” drivers…now I change my mind and honor the award to the Inidans…they are just crazy!! They can just create any lane they want…go any direction they like to go…..switch on the high beam that is bright enough to harm your eyes….and I saw an old man got hit by a car but nobody helped out…..crazy crazy crazy….

Pushkar is one of the frequently visited tourist destinations of Rajasthan. Characterised by a picturesque valley, mountainous regions, uncommon scenic spots, and several pilgrimage sites of importance, Pushkar is known all over. It also makes one of the revered Hindu pilgrimage sites of India and houses the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world. The flow of tourists to Pushkar increases exceptionally during the time of the camel fair. The locals here are very hospitable and they dress up with their best during this much-awaited camel fair. Their colourful veils, turbaned heads, and colourfully dyed skirts, with sounds of the ektara and the soulful tunes of the Rajasthani folk songs make the nights of the Pushkar equally pleasing.
Places to visit
Brahma Temple
Brahma Temple, the only temple where Lord Brahma is worshipped, is one of the main attractions of Pushkar. The temple holds special importance for the followers of Hinduism. The temple houses a life-size four-armed idol of Lord Brahma—the creator—in the antralaya (vestibule). The temple is also characterised by its white marble floor and stairs. The walls of the temple are studded with silver coins. The coins are put by the devotees to mark the births or deaths of the loved ones of the devotees who came here to offer prayers.
Pushkar Lane
Another major attraction of Pushkar is the picturesque lake that is of immense significance for the follower of Hinduism because of its legendary origins. According to legends, a lotus fell from the hand of Lord Brahma and dropped into this valley. A lake sprang up on the spot, which was subsequently dedicated to him. The entire lake is supposed to be surrounded by 500 temples, 52 palaces, and 52 ghats.
Pushkar Bazaar
Pushkar is particularly famous for the many shopping options that it offers. The local markets display souvenirs, Rajasthani costumes, jewellery, embroidered fabrics, decorative pieces and groovy accessories. The bazaar becomes a hub of activity during the annual Pushkar Fair.
Savitri Temple
The Savitri Temple, located on the top of the Ratnagiri Hill, is dedicated to Goddess Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma. According to legend, Brahma had performed a yagna alongside Gayatri, a young milkmaid. This enraged the Goddess who cursed her husband that he would never be worshipped anywhere except in Pushkar and that too only once a year. After cursing the Lord, Savitri left for the Ratnagiri Hill and immolated herself. The present temple was built on the very site where Savitri is believed to have committed immolation. The temple houses a beautiful statue of Goddess Savitri inside it.
Mahadeva Temple
Built in the 19th century, the Mahadeva temple is characterised by its statue of Lord Mahadeva. Built of white marble depicting Mahadeva with five faces, the temple is remarkable for the elegance of its structure and the nature of its ornaments.
Rangji Temple
The Rangji Temple is dedicated to Vishnu, the Preserver of the Hindu Trinity. Built in the style of the South Indian temples, it houses two massive structures of dwarpalas (gatekeepers) in front of the main gate. The temple has an image of Garuda, the mount of lord Vishnu.
Varaha Temple
The local Varaha Temple of Pushkar was built in the 12th century. This temple is dedicated to Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared here.
Man Mahal
The Man Mahal was built by Raja Man Singh of Amber. It is presently functioning as the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation's tourist bungalow.

Ajmer-e-Sharif
Ajmer is the most sacred of all Muslim places of pilgrimage in India. In 1193, after Prithviraj Chauhan had lost Ajmer to Sultan Mohammed of Ghori, the Persian saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, who had come with Ghori, settled and preached here.
Hawa Mahal
Built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh the 'Hawa Mahal', Palace of the Wind, is one of the major landmarks of Jaipur. It is an integral part of the City Palace, an extension of the Zenana (women's chambers) standing away from the main complex.
Jaisalmer Fort
Deep in the heart of the Thar Desert is Jaisalmer, one of the last princely bastions in the region. Founded on what was the cross - road of lucrative trade routes, this remote settlement came to be celebrated for the valour of its rulers, and for the aesthetic sense represented by their palaces and havelis.
Junagarh Fort
One of the most imposing forts of Northern India-- Junagarh Fort has remained unconquered till date. This fort was built in 15th century by one of the most able and trusted generals of Akbar, Raja Rai Singh.
Jain Temples, Jaisalmer
This group of fine Jain temples were built in the 12 th to 15 th century, within the Jaisalmer Fort. They are beautifully carved and dedicated to Rikhabdevji and Sambhavnathji. The Gyan Bhandar, a library containing some extremely old manuscripts, is within the temple complex.
City Palace, Jaipur
Located in the capital of Rajasthan, the City Palace of Jaipur or the main palace is an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthan and Mughal architecture. The vast palace complex occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur.
City Palace, Udaipur
The majestic white City Palace located in the heart of Udaipur, was originally built by Maharana Udai Singh of the Sisodia Rajput clan and extended to its present form by subsequent Maharanas.
Lalgarh Palace, Bikaner
Built in the memory of maharaja Lal Singh, Lalgarh Palace has a graceful facade of red sandstone, and is one of Maharaja Ganga Singh’s great achievements. The maharaja ruled for a period of 56 years. The state especially prospered under his rule.

Badrinath
Badrinath dhaam is considered as one of the most sacred centres of pilgrimage situated in the lofty Himalayan heights in the Tehri-Garhwal hill tracks (Uttarakhand) at the height of 10,248 feet above sea level. The route to Badrinath is one of the most arduous one due to the lofty hilly terrain, curves and cliffs amidst the most scenically beautiful place on the earth.
Kedarnath
Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the devout Hindu. It is set amidst the stunning mountainscape of the Garhwal Himalayas at the head of the Mandakini River. Kedar is another name of lord Shiva, the protector & the destroyer. Shiva is considered the embodiment of all passions - love, hatred, fear, death & mysticism which are expressed through his various forms.
Gangotri
In the hinterlands of the Himalayas is Gangotri where, it is believed, Ganga, the stream of life, touched earth for the first time. According to the Hindu religious scriptures, the heavenly goddess Ganga manifested herself in the form of a river to absolve the sins of King Sagar's sons. After three generations of severe penance, performed over several centuries, Ganga conceded to descend to the Earth. At the legendary source of the river, Goddess Ganga is worshipped in the form of deity. The Gangotri temple was built in the early 18th century by a Gorkha commander, Amar Singh Thapa and later rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur. By November, Gangotri is snowbound, and so the deity is taken 25 kms downstream to Mukhba, so that her devotees are not thwarted. Despite the severe cold, however, several "SADHUS" remain at Gangotri year round, even through the very severe winter. Gomukh, the identified source of the river Ganga, is 18 kms further uphill. The trek to Gomukh is gradual, and severl pilgrims undertake the journey to pay homage to the river at its known source.
Yamnotri
Yamunotri, the source of the river Yamuna, is the western most shrine in the Garhwal Himalayas, located on a flank of the Bandarpunch peak. The treck along the river bank is quite magnificent, dominated by a wide panorama of mountains. It is said that the temple of Yamunotri was built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur in the last decade of the 19th century. In 1923 this was destroyed, with only the idols left, and was rebuilt. It was once again damaged in 1982. A hot water pool at Yamunotri is used for the preparation of "PRASAD" normally rice and potatoes, cooked by dipping them in the hot water, tied in cloth bags.
